November Newsletter: Revitalize Yourself this Thanksgiving

Why wait until the new year to start refreshing your health and boosting energy? Add in anti-inflammatory foods and take some time for self-care over the long weekend, and you'll be ready to tackle the rest of the holidays with zest. Check out our top picks for revitalizing your body this Thanksgiving.

Here are our top picks for a refreshing and energy boosting Thanksgiving!

1. B vitamins are super important for metabolism and blood sugar management. If you're feeling low energy, it could be that you're not getting enough of them. That's why Bluebonnet has created a comprehensive B-complex that includes all the essential B vitamins and inositol, known to help with blood sugar management.

2. Quercetin is a powerful antioxidant, and inflammation can cause everything from fatigue to brain fog. Life Extension has made an optimized Quercetin for the best absorption.

3. Filled with natural skin nourishing and moisturizing ingredients like olive oil and calendula, Wild Carrots Alpen Glow Body Bar is perfect to keep your skin glowing all winter long.

4. Looking to create some DIY body care products? Inesscents Aromatic Botanicals Organic Beeswax Pellets are perfect for making natural lip balms, candles and creams.

5. Refresh and renew your skin with gentle exfoliation and antioxidants using Trilogy Vitamin C Microdermabrasion this Thanksgiving weekend.

6. Rejuvenate your throat with Mickelberry Gardens Honey Propolis Throat Spray. It's made to sooth and tone throat tissues.

7. Did you know taurine may help with heart health, including lowering cholesterol and blood pressure? It's also an antioxidant and may help support healthy brain function. Life Extension offers 1000 mg of taurine to support your overall health.

8. Stay fresh and help your body fight off seasonal infections with chewable zinc lozenges with vitamin C from Bluebonnet.

1. Include seasonal veggie dishes - It's really easy for the holiday table to get filled with high starch and high fat foods that are rich and also pricey! Instead, include some color on your holiday table with seasonal squash and greens!

2. Include some plant protein - Instead of going all out and getting both a turkey and a ham, consider adding a vegetarian dish with beans, tofu or seitan. These alternatives are not only heart-healthy, they're easier on your wallet too.

3. Bring a little variety to your charcuterie board - Make a charcuterie board with a variety of flavors and foods. Think - nuts, fruit, olives, pickles, hummus alongside the traditional cheese and meats. Your buck will go further, and you'll get some healthy fats and fiber in.

4. Add a salad - Many hearty salad greens are in season and less expensive than they were last year, due to a great crop. Enjoy a beautiful salad to cut some of the richness of the holiday meal.

5. Add a non-traditional dish - Warming South Asian spices like ginger, turmeric and cloves are all anti-inflammatory and so appealing this time of year. Consider adding in a curry or a tajine as one of your side dishes or even the main. These foods will help fight inflammation and can be made with less expensive ingredients like spices, seasonal veggies and beans.
