August Newsletter: Make the Most of the Last Days of Summer

The days are already getting a bit shorter, and the leaves are beginning to turn here in the Pacific Northwest, which makes us all the more determined to make the most of the end of summer! That's why we're sharing some of our top picks to end summer strong! Check 'em out below and be sure to squeeze in that end of summer camping trip, paddle board session or hike!

Here are some of our top picks to boost health and strength to help you end summer in the best shape of your life.

1. Did you know cinnamon naturally helps balance blood sugar? Yup, when eaten with carbs it helps keep blood sugar from spiking. Get your daily dose with New Chapter Cinnamon Force capsules.

2. Curcumin from turmeric has been shown to improve everything from rheumatoid arthritis symptoms to cholesterol in studies. A good supplement can go a long way. Try Nature's Plus Pro LongVita Curcumin to fight inflammation throughout your body.

3. Inositol is a B vitamin that helps improve insulin sensitivity for balanced blood sugar and may support nerve and liver function as well. Try Jarrow Formulas Inositol Powder for a highly absorbable version.

4. Seaweed Bath Co.'s Firming Body Cream is jam packed with antioxidants from chlorella, green tea and coffee bean to help your skin fight free radical damage. It then uses hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture.

5. We could all use a little help channeling that inner calm. That's where magnesium comes in! It helps naturally calm nerves and promote high quality sleep. Trace Minerals Magnesium Glycinate is a highly absorbable version.

6. Looking for something to help boost endurance for those end of summer runs and swim sessions? American Supplements Beta-Alanine may help.

7. Did you know that Ashwagandha comes from a root? It has been used traditionally for stress reduction and relaxation. Himalaya herbals has created a powder form to help you chill out this summer.

8. Finding a good probiotic can be difficult, but there are certain strains we know are beneficial. Solgar has created a probiotic designed to support gut health with several of these strains. Try their Bowel Support Probiotic to end summer with a healthy gut.

*It's always a good idea to consult your healthcare provider when taking new supplements. This newsletter is not intended to treat or diagnose any medical conditions.

It's not too late to make the most of the end of summer! Grab your bathing suit, your paddle board and your favorite sandles and enjoy these end of summer activities!

1. Go outside now - You've been hiding from the heat in your basement all summer, and you're worried summer has passed you by. Instead of fretting, take advantage of the slightly cooler days and evenings to get outside! Enjoy that sunset paddle boarding session or just a walk around the block. Watch the leaves change and get out for a hike or rent a kayak. It's time to enjoy some time outdoors.

2. Enjoy seasonal produce - The end of summer brings with it some of the most delicious produce from summer squash to tomatoes to cucumbers and stone fruit. Enjoy it all. Make some colorful salads or a fresh stir fry.

3. Plan a last-minute camping trip - Thanks to private camp grounds and websites like HipCamp last minute camping isn't so difficult. Grab your gear and enjoy the great outdoors.

4. Start a new fitness routine - The end of summer is a great time to try something new. Whether you get into rock climbing or start a morning yoga ritual, take advantage of the change of seasons to mix things up a bit.

5. Plan a (healthy) picnic - Socializing can be great for your health too! Plan a picnic with foods like seasonal produce, whole grain bread, nuts, olives and other healthy treats!
