  2. Keep the lovely scent of cherry blossom lingering in your home with South of France Cherry Blossom foaming hand soap.
  3. Want a probiotic that's specifically designed to support women's health? Enzymedica has created a formula with 4 science-backed strains that support gut and urogenital health for women.
  4. Did you know magnesium can be used topically to help relax muscles and nerves? White Egret INC Magnesium Lotion is made with salts from the great salt lake in Utah, rich in natural magnesium to help you relieve muscle tension.
  5. Worried your kiddo isn't getting enough vitamin C to ward off those spring colds? Try Bluebonnet's Rainforest Animalz Vitamin C, made from real fruits and veggies.
  6. The last thing you want to deal with as we transition from spring to summer is a UTI. Prevent them before they start with Natural Factors WomenSense - made with D-Mannose, cranberry and propolis.
  7. Need a multivitamin that has more than just your daily vitamin and mineral needs? Nature's Plus has created a women's formula with added digestive enzymes, adaptogens and antioxidants to optimize your health.
  8. If iron is your focus, you'll want to try out American Supplements Iron Health with 16 iron supporting nutrients, including vitamin C for optimum absorption.

*It's always a good idea to consult your healthcare provider when taking new supplements. This newsletter is not intended to treat or diagnose any medical conditions.

5 Ways To Prep Your Body For Summer

by Jeani Hunt, MS, RD, CD, VitaminLife's resident dietitian and owner of VeggieLush Nutrition.

Preparing your body for summer doesn't just mean weight loss. In fact, as a dietitian, I don't focus on weight loss per se. I focus on belly fat loss - the fat that surrounds your organs and is more likely to lead to chronic illness. I also focus on foods that will help you feel more energetic, strong and confident in your body. Here are five ways to prep your body for summer from a dietitian.

  1. Get at least 25 grams of fiber per day - Fiber helps us feel full and satisfied, boost gut health and even eliminate excess fats. Include beans, nuts, seeds and fruits and veggies daily to get enough.
  2. Get at least 1-1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight - This amount of protein will help you build muscle, balance blood sugar and feel full longer.
  3. Limit added sugar to < 25 grams per day - Too much added sugar can lead to inflammation, weight gain and the blood sugar roller coaster. Pay attention to added sugar in processed foods and try to replace some with whole fruits.
  4. Get in some strength training - Make sure you're strength training in addition to any cardio you're doing. Building muscle is so important for longevity, functionality and fat loss.
  5. Get at least 120-150 minutes of vigorous exercise weekly - If you want to lose belly fat and support heart health, you'll want to get your heart rate up for about 2 hours each week. This can be achieved by running, cycling, sports, hiking, swimming or dancing.
