Check out our top picks for refreshing your body and routine this year!
1. Magnesium can help relax muscles and nerves, and it's one of the essential electrolytes we need to replenish when doing heavy exercise. Trace Minerals 40,000 Volts Electrolyte Concentrate has magnesium along with the sodium, chloride and potassium you need to stay hydrated and balanced, and it can be added to water or juice.
2. Make 2024 your year of gut health! Why? Our gut is connected to everything from mental health to metabolism, and having a healthy, diverse microbiome is the first step to healing it. If your gut needs a boost, consider Jarro-dophilus ESP, made to help balance your gut with science-backed strains.
3. If you're low on energy, it could be you're low on B vitamins, which are all important co-factors in metabolism. If you're looking to up your energy game, consider Life Extension Bioactive Complete B Complex.
4. Having troubles with digestion? Sometimes enzymes can help. Source Naturals has created a comprehensive enzyme formula with all the major types of enzymes to help you break down different macros.
5. If your hair needs a little refresh, try a natural hair dye with organic herbs. Herbatint makes a variety of beautiful colors you can mix and match without parabens or ammonia.
6. Help stave off seasonal colds and flus with Irwin Naturals Immuno-Shield, made with immune-boosting vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, zinc and vitamin E as well as traditional immune-supporting herbs like echinacea.

As a dietitian, I don't love New Year's resolutions. They're often all or nothing and unrealistic or unsustainable. Instead, I like the idea of finding practices you can do daily to refresh your body. Here are some realistic ideas you can practice every day of 2024.
1. Include a whole food-based fiber supplement daily - Fiber is the only truly cleansing food. It actually pulls excess fats from your body and allows you to eliminate them! A supplement like psyllium husk, acacia fiber, chia seeds or flax meal daily can make a huge difference in gut health, heart health and overall health!
2. Include ginger and/or turmeric daily - These tubers are potently anti-inflammatory. You can get them in supplement form or just eat them as spices in your food. Either way you get the benefit of curcumin, which has been shown in studies to lower inflammation.
3. Include probiotic foods regularly - Studies show probiotic foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, yogurt, kefir, tempeh and kombucha help seed the gut with healthy bacteria. This contributes to a healthy microbiome, which we know is connected to everything from gut health to mental health.
4. Move your body daily - It is much more beneficial to move your body every single day than it is to save it up and only go to the gym 1-2 times a week. Walking, jogging, biking, gardening and house work all count as movement. Moving every day will help balance blood sugar and contribute to longevity!
5. Try out one or more meatless days per week - The science doesn't lie - getting some protein from plants is not only better for the planet, it's good for your heart and can even help lower your risk of diabetes. Try starting with one day per week where you get protein from beans, nuts, soy, seitan or meat substitutes.
