Qi Gong (pronounced “chee gohng”) literally means “energy work/cultivation”. It is often described as Chinese Yoga. Many forms and styles have developed throughout the years, but most emphasize self-healing on emotional and physical levels. Paul Schwartz, L.Ac., will discuss the general history and philosophy of Qi Gong as well as teach the first movements of Heaven Earth Gong, which includes still postures and graceful movements. Practicing Qigong regularly is one of the most effective ways to empower and maintain health and well-being.
Paul Schwartz, L.Ac., began studying Taiji Chuan and Qi Gong in 1990. After living in Taiwan throughout most of his twenties, he and his wife, Raejune, moved to Austin where he studied Traditional Chinese Medicine at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. After graduating in 2005 and becoming a licensed acupuncturist, he and his two partners opened the first community acupuncture clinic in Texas. In March 2012 Paul relocated to the Pacific Northwest and in October officially opened his new practice, SoulBody Medicine, in downtown Redmond.
