Traditional Chinese Medicine is relatively new to the West, but this time tested holistic medicine has much to offer our modern world. Acupuncture and herbal medicine bridges philosophy, science and art and is an exceptional compliment to a system that increasingly relies on pharmaceuticals. In this one hour presentation, Paul Schwartz L.Ac., will discuss the fundamental principles underlying TCM, including Qi, Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, and how these concepts offer insight into treating a wide range of ailments. Practical explanations will be given that de-mystify this often misunderstood and under-rated system of holistic medicine.
Paul Schwartz, L.Ac., began studying Taiji Chuan and Qi Gong in 1990. After living in Taiwan throughout most of his twenties, he and his wife, Raejune, moved to Austin where he studied Traditional Chinese Medicine at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. After graduating in 2005 and becoming a licensed acupuncturist, he and his two partners opened the first community acupuncture clinic in Texas. In March 2012 Paul relocated to the Pacific Northwest and in October officially opened his new practice, SoulBody Medicine, in downtown Redmond.
